COVID-19 UPDATE
Hello families,
We would like to provide continuous updates to you in order to keep you informed and abreast of any changes.
So far we have avoided any illness or symptoms, related to COVID-19, within our resident population and continue to be vigilant with our employee’s. We are screening our employee’s on every shift with temperatures being taken, questionnaire screening with our LPN/ RN leadership prior to starting their shift and constant updates via our internal messaging system to all staff under our employ.
Any staff member who works at another facility or industry, has also been requested to report any cases at that work place, automatically causing them to be quarantined for 14 days in self-isolation. We have ceased all non-essential trade work and are meeting with our vendors at our exit doors to collect orders and deliveries as they arrive.
A reminder to all families that you are able to schedule a call with your loved one via our Recreation department utilizing facetime or skype as it permits (kdewald@mayfaircarecentre.com and dbroomfield@glamorgancarecentre.com). Please keep your conversations brief so we may bring this service to as many people as we can daily. Our Nurse cordless phones are for communication to you with updates, with our Doctors for any new or recurring orders and for emergencies. They are not for prolonged conversations with your loved one. Please know your Nurse will call you if there is a change in your loved ones health or a request/ decision that involves you needs to be made. No news, in this instance, is good news. Our Nurses will not call you each day with nothing to report. In the event your loved one is experiencing End-of-life care our Nursing leadership will organise essential visitation for 1-2 family/ friends at a time.
While our “new normal” has no time horizon our residents are generally doing well, are participating in recreation and being tended to as you would expect throughout the day. Our staff remains positive and upbeat despite being in the front line of this virus.

We had another successful annual summer bbq with the weather cooperating and allowing the community, residents, staff and families to enjoy and evening full of food, music, and fun in our garden court.

RENOVATIONS TO RESIDENT ROOMS
In Sept of 2014, we began the process of renovating all of our Resident Rooms. As of November 1st, 2015 we have completed all Residents rooms. Please click on the images below to look at the newly renovated spaces.
